New Senior Head Coach

Jeremy Dawson

Jamie Ray joins Oakham RFC

We are excited to announce that Jamie Ray is joining us as the Senior Head Coach!

Jamie’s coaching career began at Oakham, where he initially assisted with age group rugby and later led the colts to several successful seasons. Since then, he has amassed extensive experience. He served as a backs coach and eventually led the Leicestershire U18s program. He played a crucial role in nurturing young talent at the Leicester Tigers Junior Academy.

During his three seasons at Leicester Forest, Jamie oversaw a highly successful period. He developed colts players and integrated them into the senior team. Under his leadership, the team won the league twice, secured the county cup, and finished as runners-up in both competitions.

Jamie’s coaching journey has been marked by continuous learning and growth. He is eager to bring his experience and energy back to Oakham RFC and senior rugby. Moving into senior rugby represents the natural next step in his coaching career. This allows him to apply his extensive knowledge and leadership to a broader, more competitive environment. The club’s commitment to excellence and development aligns seamlessly with Jamie’s coaching philosophy.

After productive discussions with Alan (Chairman), Luke (DoR) and Jeremy (M&J Lead), there is a clear vision for the club’s future. With exciting goals in place, Jamie is confident that he can make a significant impact in the seasons ahead. He aims to foster growth, unity, and success within Oakham RFC.

This marks an exciting new chapter for Oakham RFC! With Jamie at the helm, and the full support of the Chairman, Director of Rugby, and club Committee, we look forward to building a future rooted in passion, progress, and pride. Please join us in welcoming Jamie. We encourage all members to attend our next game to meet Jamie in person. We look forward to achieving great things together—one club, one vision, one team!
