Oakham travelled to Sileby Town on Saturday knowing they faced a tough challenge against one of the league’s stronger sides, and despite a committed performance the hosts ultimately ran out 39–17 winners.

The game was closely contested in the early stages, with both teams battling for territory and possession. Oakham showed plenty of intent with ball in hand and were rewarded with a try from Sam Weatherall, keeping the visitors firmly in the contest. At half time Sileby held a narrow 12–5 lead, leaving the match well balanced heading into the second half.

After the break Sileby began to build momentum and capitalised on their opportunities, stretching the scoreline with a series of tries. Oakham continued to compete and created moments of quality in attack, with further tries coming from Ratu Korobulieka and Lewis Crellin, who also added the conversion.

Despite the scoreline, Oakham continued to battle throughout and showed good character against a strong Sileby side. The squad will now turn their attention to the final fixtures of the season as they look to finish strongly.
