Oakham signed off their home league campaign in style with a strong 26–5 derby victory over Stamford College Old Boys in front of an excellent crowd at the Showground.

Despite playing with the wind in the first half, Oakham were only 7–0 ahead at the break, having struggled at times to convert territory into points. Stamford defended well and made the hosts work hard for every opportunity.

The breakthrough score came from Vili Korobulileka, whose try gave Oakham the early advantage. The home side knew they would need a strong second-half performance after not fully capitalising on the conditions.

Oakham delivered exactly that.

With improved control and growing momentum, the Black and Amber began to stretch the Stamford defence. Sam Weatherall crossed twice with two well-taken tries, while Oliver Crellin added another to secure the bonus-point victory. Lewis Crellin added the remaining points from the tee to complete the scoring.

Equally pleasing for Oakham was a much-improved defensive performance, limiting Stamford to just a single try despite their determined efforts throughout the game.

Credit must go to Stamford College Old Boys, who fought hard for the full eighty minutes and played their part in an entertaining local derby.

With a great crowd and a fantastic atmosphere, it was a fitting way for Oakham to round off their final home match of the season.
